Born and raised in Turkey, Ahmet spent his childhood swimming in the Mediterranean Sea. From the shore to the university, he went on to study Physical Education. Though he has a love for all sports, including folk dance and basketball, he mastered the art of teaching swimming, beginning in 2005.
After moving to the United States, he worked at the British International School of New York for 6 years as a PE teacher and Aquatics Supervisor for the Early Years, Primary Years, and Middle Years programs, as well as in health and fitness centers and private residences. After moving to Westchester county with his family, he began teaching swimming locally.
Ahmet believes in getting to know his students as individuals and as swimmers, and adjusting his teaching practices to meet the strengths and needs of every learner.
